Almadale Farms Neighborhood Watch Program
A Neighborhood Watch Program can be defined as
neighborhood residents getting together, deciding that the neighborhood would be a better place if they met periodically,
got to know each other better and committed to watch out for each other. Each neighbor is dedicated to looking out for his
neighbor’s safety and security and the safety and security of the whole neighborhood as well as his own. Simply stated
it amounts to neighbors helping neighbors.
Almadale Farms began its NW program in 2001. The neighborhood is
divided into 31 “blocks,” each consisting of 8-10 homes. Each block has a “Captain.” We have
three Coordinators who are responsible for contacting the Captains in case an act of vandalism of thief occurs in our neighborhood.
The Captains in turn, contact the homes in their blocks. It's really like a giant phone tree!
Fortunately, we haven’t had much reason to activate the process,
but it’s good to know we are ready if need be.
If
you see something that doesn’t seem right, do something about it. You can call your neighbor, your Block Captain, your
coordinator, one of the Town departments or the Police Department, but don’t ignore it. Anything illegal or suspicious
should be reported to the Collierville Police Department (CPD), 853-3207.
